For over three decades, we have served as Adelaide's spiritual and cultural home for the Shia Jafari community — a place of prayer, education and belonging.
Our mission
Founded in 1995 by a small group of families with a shared vision, the Jafaria Islamic Community has grown into one of South Australia's largest Shia congregations. Our mission is unchanged: to preserve and pass on the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) while nurturing a generation that contributes meaningfully to Australian society.
From Pooraka's heart, we offer daily prayer, weekly Majalis, Sunday school, youth programs, welfare support and interfaith engagement — building bridges within and beyond our community.
What we stand for
The principles that shape every program, gathering and act of service.
Embracing every member as family — supporting one another through joy, hardship and growth.
Lifelong learning rooted in the Qur'an, the Sunnah and the teachings of Ahlul Bayt (AS).
Bringing together diverse backgrounds — Iranian, Iraqi, Pakistani, Lebanese, Afghan and Australian — as one community.
Daily acts of service — from welfare to interfaith dialogue — turning faith into action.
