Transliteration

ilahy ta`arrada laka fi hadha allayli almuta`arriduna wa qasadaka alqasiduna wa ammla fadlaka wa ma`rufaka alttalibuna wa laka fi hadha allayli nafahatun wa jawa’izu wa `ataya wa mawahibu tamunnu biha `ala man tasha‘u min `ibadika wa tamna`uha man lam tasbiq lahu al`inaiyatu minka wa ha ana dha `ubayduka alfaqiru ilayka almu´ammilu fadlaka wa ma`rufaka fain kunta ya mawlaiya tafaddalta fi hadhihi allaylati `ala ahadin min khalqika wa `udta `alayhi bi`a’idatin min `atfika fasalli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

Translation

O Allah: tonight the seekers of favors, restless and eager, present themselves to You; the determined aspirers have You in mind; those who make requests look long and attentively at Your obligingness and kindness; You, in this night, give gifts, bounties beyond measure, free donations, and favors, to those whom You will from among Your servants when they make a request, and say no to those who do not try to get in advance (remain behind) for obtaining the bounties from You. I, a modest needy bondman, am hopeful of Your obligingness and kindness. Indeed if You, O My Master, bestows a favor on any one, in this night, from among Your created beings, and multiply profits and gains for him out of love and affection, please send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad:

Transliteration

alttiyyibina alttahirina alkhayyrina alfadilina wa jud `alayya bitawlika wa ma`rufika ya rabba al`alamina wa salla allahu `ala muhammadin khatami alnnabiyyina wa alihi alttahirina wa sallama tasliman inn allaha hamidun majidun allahumma inni ad`uka kama amarta fastajib li kama wa`adta innaka la tukhlifu almi`ada

Translation

the pure, the immaculate, the virtuous, and the righteous; and then let me have enough and be contented on account of Your liberality and obligingness, O Lord of the worlds! May Allah send blessings upon Muhammad, the seal of the Prophets, and upon his Household, the immaculate, and may He exalt them very much. verily, Allah is worthy of all praise, full of all glory. O Allah: I am praying You as You ordered me to do, So, (please) respond to me as You promised. verily, You never break Your promise.

Transliteration

sajada laka sawady wa khayali wa amana bika fu´adi hadhihi yadaiya wa ma janaytuhu `ala nafsi ya `azimu turja likulli `azimin aghfir liya al`azima fa’innhu la yaghfiru aldhdhanba al`azima illa alrrabbu al`azimu . a`udhu binuri wa jhika alladhy ada‘at lahu alssamawatu wal-araduna wankashafat lahu alzzulumatu wa salaha `alayhi amru al-awwalina wal-akhirina min fuj-ati naqimatika wa min tahwili `afiyatika

Translation

Prostrating before You are my body and my shadow and my heart is in full faith of You These are my two hands and this is what I have committed against myself, O the All-great: You are hoped for all enormous things; Please, forgive me my serious offences because none can forgive the serious sin except the All-great Lord. . I seek the protection of the light of Your Face that has lit the heavens and the earth and has removed all darkness and has made active all the affairs of the past and the coming generations against Your sudden chastisement and against withdrawing the good health that You have granted me

Transliteration

wa min zawal-i ni`matika allahumma arzuqny qalban taqiyyan naqiyyan wa mina alshshirki bari’an la kafiran wa la shaqiyyan . `affartu wajhy fi altturabi wa huqqa li an asjuda laka

Translation

and against the vanishing of Your bounties. O Allah: (please) grant me a heart that is pious and pure, and is released from polytheism, and is neither atheist nor unhappy. . I am putting my face on the ground and it is my duty to prostrate myself before You

Transliteration

Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa Aali Muhammad, shajaratin-nubuwwati wa mawdi‘ir-risalah. Wa mukhtalafil-mala’ikati wa ma‘dinil-‘ilmi wa Ahlal-Baytil-wahy. Wa a‘tinī fī hādhihi al-laylati umniyyatī wa taqabbal wasīlatī. Fa innī bi-Muhammadin wa ‘Aliyyin wa awsiyā’ihimā ilayka atawassalu wa ‘alayka atawakkalu. Wa laka as’alu yā Mujībal-mudtarrīn, yā malja’al-hāribīn. Wa muntahā raghbatir-rāghibīn wa naylit-tālibīn. Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa Aali Muhammad salātan kathīratan tayyibah. Takūnu laka ridan wa lihaqqihim qadhā’an. Allahumma a‘mur qalbī bi-tā‘atik wa lā tukhzinī bi-ma‘ṣiyatik. Wa arzuqnī muwāsāta man qattarta ‘alayhi min rizqik. Bimā wassa‘ta ‘alayya min faḍlik fa innaka wāsi‘ul-faḍl. Wāzi‘ul-‘adli likulli khayrin ahl.

Translation

O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad and his progeny, the tree of Prophethood and the position of the Prophetic mission. And the place where angels descend, the source of knowledge, and the Household of revelation. Grant me my wish on this night and accept my supplication. For indeed, I seek intercession through Muhammad, Ali, and their successors, upon You do I rely. And to You, I ask, O Answerer of the distressed, O refuge of the fugitives. The ultimate desire of those who seek and the grantor of requests. O Allah! Send abundant and pure blessings upon Muhammad and his progeny. That pleases You and fulfills their due rights. O Allah! Fill my heart with Your obedience and do not disgrace me through disobedience. Grant me the ability to support those whose sustenance You have limited. With the abundance You have granted me from Your grace, for indeed You are Most Generous. The One who upholds justice and is worthy of all goodness.

Transliteration

Allahumma Antal-mad‘ū wa Antal-marjū wa rāziqul-khayri wa kāshifus-sū’. Al-Ghaffāru Dhul-‘Afwi ar-Rafī‘, wa ad-du‘ā’is-samī‘. As’aluka fī hādhihil-laylati al-ijābata wa husnal-inābah. Wa at-tawbata wa al-awbata wa khayra mā qasamta fīhā. Wa faraqta min kulli amrin ḥakīm. Fa Anta bi-ḥālī za‘īmun ‘alīmun, waliyyun wa bī raḥīm. Umnun ‘alayya bimā mananta bihi ‘alal-mustad‘afīna min ‘ibādik. Wa aj‘alnī minal-wārithīn wa fī jawārika minal-lābithīn. Fī dāril-qarāri wa maḥallil-akhyār.

Translation

O Allah! You are the One who is called upon, the One who is hoped for, the Provider of goodness, and the Remover of affliction. The Most Forgiving, the Possessor of Pardon, the Exalted, and the Hearer of supplications. I ask You on this night for an answered prayer and sincere return to You. For repentance, turning back to You, and the best of what You have decreed in it. And from every wise decree that You have determined. For You are fully aware of my condition, my Guardian, and Most Merciful to me. Bestow upon me what You have granted to the oppressed among Your servants. And make me among the inheritors, residing near You for eternity. In the abode of permanence and the dwelling of the righteous.

Transliteration

Subḥānal-wāḥid alladhī lā ilāha ghayruh. Al-qadīmil-ladhī lā bad’a lah, ad-dā’im alladhī lā nafāda lah. Ad-dā’ib alladhī lā farāgha lah, al-ḥayy alladhī lā yamūt. Khāliqi mā yurā wa mā lā yurā. ‘Ālimi kulli shay’in bighayri ta‘līm. As-sābiqi fī ‘ilmihī mā yahjusu al-mar’u fī wahmih. Subḥānahu wa ta‘ālā ‘ammā yushrikūn. Allāhumma innī as’aluka su’āla mu‘tarifin bibalā’ikal-qadīm. Wa na‘mā’ika an tuṣalliya ‘alā Muḥammad khayri anbiyā’ik. Wa ahli baytihi aṣfiyā’ika wa aḥibbā’ik. Wa an tubārika lī fī liqā’ika.

Translation

Glory be to the One, there is no god but Him. The Eternal, who has no beginning, the Everlasting, who never ends. The Constant, who is never unoccupied, the Living, who does not die. The Creator of what is seen and what is unseen. The Knower of all things without being taught. The One whose knowledge precedes whatever a person imagines in his mind. Glory be to Him, and Exalted is He above what they associate with Him. O Allah! I ask You as one who acknowledges Your ancient trials. And Your blessings, that You bestow prayers upon Muhammad, the best of Your prophets. And his household, Your chosen ones and beloved ones. And that You bless me in my meeting with You.

Transliteration

Yā Kāshifal-karb wa mudhallila kulli ṣa‘b. Wa mubtadi’an-ni‘am qabla istiḥqāqihā. Wa yā man mafza‘ul-khalqi ilayhi wa tawakkuluhum ‘alayh. Amarta bid-du‘ā’i wa ḍaminta al-ijābah. Faṣalli ‘alā Muḥammad wa āli Muḥammad. Wa ibda’ bihim fī kulli khayr. Wa afrij hammī wa arzuqnī barda ‘afwik. Wa ḥalāwata dhikrik wa shukrik wa intizāra amrik. Unẓur ilayya naẓratan raḥīmatan min naẓarātik. Wa aḥyinī mā aḥyaytanī mawfūran mastūrā. Wa aj‘alil-mawta lī jadhalan wa surūrā. Wa aqdir lī wa lā tuqattir fī ḥayātī.

Translation

O Remover of distress and Subduer of every hardship. And the One who initiates blessings before they are deserved. O He to whom creation flees for refuge and upon whom they rely. You commanded supplication and guaranteed the response. So bestow blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad. And begin with them in every goodness. Relieve my distress and grant me the coolness of Your pardon. And the sweetness of Your remembrance, gratitude, and awaiting Your command. Look upon me with a merciful glance from among Your glances. And let me live as long as You keep me alive, in abundance and protected. And make death for me a joy and a delight. Grant me sustenance and do not restrict my provision.

Transliteration

Ilā ḥīni wafātī ḥattā alqāka minal-‘ayshi sā’iman. Wa ilal-ākhirati qariman. Innaka ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr.

Translation

Until the time of my death, so that I meet You weary of this life. And longing for the Hereafter. Indeed, You have power over all things.

Transliteration

Allāhumma Rabba ash-shaf‘ wa al-watr wa al-layli idhā yasr. Biḥaqqi hādhihi al-laylati al-maqsūm fīhā bayna ‘ibādika mā taqsim. Wa al-maḥtūm fīhā mā taḥtim. Ajzil fīhā qismī. Wa lā tubaddil ismī wa lā tughayyir jismī. Wa lā ‘ani ar-rushdi ‘amā. Wa akhtim lī bis-sa‘ādati wa al-qabūl. Yā khayra marghūbin ilayhi wa mas’ūl.

Translation

O Allah, Lord of the even and the odd, and the night as it passes. By the right of this night in which You distribute among Your servants what You will. And that which is decreed in it, as You ordain. Grant me an abundant share in it. Do not change my name, nor alter my body. And do not lead me away from guidance into blindness. Seal my fate with happiness and acceptance. O the best One to whom we turn and from whom we ask.

Transliteration

Allāhumma yā man shā’nuhu al-kifāyah wa surādīquhu ar-ri‘āyah. Yā man huwa arrajā’u walamalu wa ‘alayhi fī ashshadā’id almuttaqal. Massaniyaddurru wa anta arḥamu arrāḥimīn. Wa ḍāqat ‘alayya almadhāhibu wa anta khayru arrāziqīn. Kayfa akhāfu wa anta rajā’ī wa kayfa aḍī‘u wa anta lishiddatī wa rakhā’ī. Allāhumma innī as’aluka bimā wāratilḥujubu min jalālika wa jamālika. Wa bimā aṭāfa al‘arshu min bahā’i kamālika. Wa bimā‘āqidi al‘izz min ‘arshika aththābitilarkan. Wa bimā tuḥīṭu bihi qudratuka min malakūti assultān. Yā man lā rādda liamrihi wa lā mu‘aqqiba liḥukmih. Idhrib baynī wa bayna a‘dā’ī sitran min sitrik. Wa kāfiyatan min amrik.

Translation

O Allah, the One whose affair is sufficiency, and His sanctuary is care. O the One who is hope and expectation, and upon whom we rely in hardships. I have been touched by harm, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful. And the paths have become narrow for me, and You are the best of providers. How should I fear when You are my hope, and how should I be lost when You are my strength in difficulty and ease? O Allah, I ask You by what is veiled by the curtains of Your Majesty and Your Beauty. And by what the Throne is surrounded by of the splendor of Your perfection. And by the places of honor in Your Throne, with its firm pillars. And by what Your power encompasses from the dominion of sovereignty. O the One whose command cannot be turned back, and whose judgment is not reversed. Place between me and my enemies a veil from Your veiling. And a sufficiency from Your command.

Transliteration

Yā man lā takhriqu qudratahu ‘awāṣifu arriyāḥ. Wa lā taqṭa‘uhu bawātiru asṣifāḥ. Wa lā tanfuḏu fīhi ‘awāmilu arrimāḥ. Yā shadīda albaṭshi yā ‘ālīya al‘arsh. Ikshif ḍurrī yā kāshifa ḍurri Ayyūb. Wa iḍrib baynī wa bayna man yarmīnī bibawā’iqih. Wa yasrī ilayya ṭawāriquhu bikāfiyatim min kawāfīki. Wa wāqiyatan min dawā‘īki. Wa farrij hammi wa ghammi. Yā fārija ghammi Y‘aqūb. Wa aghlib lī man ghalabanī. Yā ghāliban ghayra maghlūb.

Translation

O the One whose power is not breached by the storms of the winds. And whose course is not cut by the sudden blows of the spears. And whose being is not pierced by the forces of the spears. O the One of severe grip, O the Exalted of the Throne. Remove my hardship, O One who removed the hardship of Job. And strike between me and those who target me with their evil plans. And let his calamities approach me with the sufficiency of Your protection. And protect me from the destructive forces of Your will. Relieve my distress and my sorrow. O Reliever of the grief of Jacob. And give me victory over those who have wronged me. O the One who triumphs, never defeated.

Transliteration

Wa radda Allāhu alladhīna kafarū bighayẓihim lam yanālū khayran. Wa kafā Allāhu almu’minīn alqitāl. Wa kāna Allāhu qawiyyāan ‘azīzāan. Fa ayyadnā alladhīna āmanū ‘alā ‘adūhīm faaṣbaḥūẓāhirīn. Yā man najjā Nūḥan min alqawmi azẓālimīn. Wa yā man najjā Lūṭan min alqawmi alfāsiqīn. Yā man najjā Hūdān min alqawmi al‘Ādīn. Yā man najjā Muḥammadan min alqawmi almustahzi’īn. As’aluka biḥaqqi shahrinā hādhā wa ayyāmihi. Alladhī kāna rasūlukā ṣallā Allāhu ‘alayhi wa ālihī yad’abu fī ṣiyāmihī wa qiyāmihī. Madā sinīhī wa a‘wāmihī. An taj‘alani fīhī min almaqbūlīn a‘mālahum.

Translation

And Allah returned those who disbelieved with His wrath, and they did not attain any good. And Allah sufficed the believers in the battle. And Allah is Strong, Almighty. Then We supported those who believed against their enemies, and they became victorious. O the One who saved Noah from the oppressive people. And O the One who saved Lot from the sinful people. And O the One who saved Hud from the people of ‘Ād. And O the One who saved Muhammad from the mocking people. I ask You by the right of this month and its days. In which Your Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, was diligent in fasting and standing in prayer. Throughout his years and seasons. That You make me among those whose deeds are accepted in it.

Transliteration

Albālighīn fīhī āmālahum. Wa alqaḍīn fī ṭā‘atikā ājālahum. Wa an tudrikī bī ṣiyāma ashshahri almuftaraḍī. Shahri asṣiyāmi ‘alā attakmīlati wa attamām. Wa aslakḥahā biansilākhī min alāthām. Fa innī mutaḥaṣṣinun bika dhū i‘tiṣāmin. Biasmā’ika al‘iẓāmī wa muwālāti awliyā’ika alkrāmī. Ahlin naqdī wa alibrām. Imāmīn minhum ba‘da imāmin maṣābīḥi azzalām. Wa ḥujajillāhi ‘alā jamī‘ilanām. ‘Alayhim minkā afḍalu aṣṣalāti wa assalām. Allāhumma wa innī as’aluka biḥaqqi albayti alḥarām.

Translation

And those who reach their hopes in it. And those whose term in Your obedience is completed. And that I complete the fast of the obligatory month. The month of fasting, completed in perfection. And cleanse it by my removal from sins. For indeed, I am fortified with You, holding fast to You. By Your great names, and the love of Your noble allies. The people of breaking and binding. A leader from them after another, the lights in the darkness. And the proofs of Allah over all of creation. Upon them, the best of blessings and peace from You. O Allah, and I ask You by the right of the Sacred House.

Transliteration

Wa arrukni wa almaqāmi wa almashā‘iri al‘iẓām. An tahiba lī allaylata aljazīla min ‘aṭā’ika. Wa ali‘ādhata min balā’ika. Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā Muḥammadin wa ālī baytihi alawṣiyā’i. Alhudātī addu‘ātī arru‘ā’i. Wa an lā taj‘ala ḥaẓī min hādha addu‘ā’i tilāwatih. Wa aj‘al ḥaẓī minhu ijābatah. Innaka ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr.

Translation

And by the corner, and the standing place, and the sacred sites. That You grant me abundant gifts this night from Your bounty. And protection from Your afflictions. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of his household, the chosen ones. The guides, the callers to the truth, the shepherds. And do not make my portion from this supplication its recitation. But make my portion from it its acceptance. Indeed, You are capable of all things.
