Dua Aliya Mazameen

Transliteration

allahumma inni zurtu hadha al-imama muqirran bi'imamatihi mu`taqidan lifardi ta`atihi faqasadtu mashhadahu bidhunubi wa `uyubi wa mubiqati athami wa kathrati sayyi'ati wa khatayaya wa ma ta`rifuhu minni mustajiran bi`afwika musta`idhan bihilmika rajiyan rahmataka laji'an ila ruknika `a'idhan bira'fatika

Translation

O Allah, I am visiting this Imam confessing his Imamate and believing in the obligation of the obedience to him; therefore, I have betaken myself to his shrine in spite of all of my sins, defects, the perils of my wrongdoings, my numerous misdeeds and faults, and whatsoever You know about me; taking shelter in Your amnesty, seeking refuge of Your forbearance, hoping for Your mercy, resorting to Your asylum, seeking the protection of Your compassion,

Transliteration

mustashfi`an biwaliyyika wabni awliya'ika wa safiyyika wsbni asfiya'ika wa aminika wabni umana'ika wa khalifatika wabni khulafa'ika alladhina ja`altahum alwasilata ila rahmatika wa ridwanika waldhdhari`ata ila ra'fatika wa ghufranika allahumma wa awwalu hajati ilayka an taghfira li ma salafa min dhunubi `ala kathratiha wa an ta`simani fima baqiya min `umri wa tutahhira dini mimma yudannisuhu wa yashinuhu wa yuzri bihi wa tahmiyahu min alrraybi walshshakki

Translation

seeking the intercession of Your vicegerent and the son (If this supplication is said at the holy shrine of Imam `Ali (`a), the word ‘wabni (and the son)’ must be changed into ‘wa abi (and the father)’.) of Your vicegerent, Your choicest servant and the son of Your choicest servants, Your trustee and the son of Your trustees, and Your representative and the son of Your representatives, whom You have made the means to approach Your mercy and pleasure and the channels to Your compassion and forgiveness. O Allah, my first need from You is that I implore You to forgive all of my previous sins although they are numerous, to protect me (against sinning) in my coming lifetime, to purify my religion from whatsoever stains, disgraces, or degrades it, to save it from suspect, doubt,

Transliteration

walfasadi walshshirki wa tuthabbitani `ala ta`atika wa ta`ati rasulika wa dhurriyyatihi alnnujaba'i alssu`ada'i salawatuka `alayhim wa rahmatuka wa salamuka wa barakatuka wa tuhyiyani ma ahyaytani `ala ta`atihim wa tumitani idha amattani `ala ta`atihim wa an la tamhuwa min qalbi mawaddatahum wa mahabbatahum wa bughda a`da'ihim wa murafaqata awliya'ihim wa birrahum wa as'aluka ya rabbi an taqbala dhalika minni

Translation

corruption, and blasphemy, to make me stand firm on the obedience to You, to Your Messenger, and to his Progeny the pure and happy, may Your blessings be upon them as well as Your mercy, peace, and favors, to make me live as long as You grant me life on the obedience to them, to make me die, when You decide so, on the obedience to them, and not to erase from my heart my love and affection for them, my aversion to their enemies, my companionship of their adherents, and my acting piously towards them. I also beseech You, O my Lord, to accept all that from me,

Transliteration

wa tuhabbiba ilayya `ibadataka walmuwazabata `alayha wa tunashshitani laha wa tubaghghida ilayya ma`asiyaka wa maharimaka wa tadfa`ani `anha wa tujannbani alttaqsira fi salawati walistihanata biha walttarakhiya `anha wa tuwaffiqani lita'diyatiha kama faradta wa amarta bihi `ala sunnati rasulika salawatuka `alayhi wa alihi wa rahmatuka wa barakatuka

Translation

to endear my worshipping You to myself, to endue me with perseverance in worship, to make me active in it, to make me loathe acts of disobedience to You and acts that You deemed forbidden, to take me away from these acts, to save me against negligence of my prayers, belittling them, and slackening in their performance, to lead me to perform them as perfect as You have made incumbent upon me and as You have commanded according to the traditions of Your Messenger, may Your blessings be upon him and his Household as well as Your mercy and favors,

Transliteration

khudu`an wa khushu`an wa tashraha sadri li'ita'i alzzakati wa i`ta'i alssadaqati wa badhli alma`rufi wal-ihsani ila shi`ati ali muhammadin `alayhim alssalamu wa muwasatihim wa la tatawaffani illa ba`da an tarzuqani hajja baytika alharami wa ziyarata qabri nabiyyika wa quburi al-a'immati `alayhim alssalamu wa as'aluka ya rabbi tawbatan nasuhan tardaha wa niyyatan tahmaduha wa `amalan salihan taqbaluhu

Translation

with submission and reverence, to expand my breast for defraying the poor-rate, giving alms, giving charity, and doing favors to the adherents of the Household of Muhammad, peace be upon them, and for consoling them. Do not take me up (i.e. cause me to die) before You bestow upon me with the favor of going on pilgrimage to Your Sacred House and to the tomb of Your Prophet and the tombs of the Imams, peace be upon them. I also beseech You, O Lord, to grant me a sincere repentance that You accept, an intention that You praise, and righteous deed that You admit,

Transliteration

wa an taghfira li wa tarhamani idha tawaffaytani wa tuhawwina `alayya sakarati almawti wa tahshurani fi zumrati muhammadin wa alihi salawatu allahi `alayhi wa `alayhim wa tudkhilani aljannata birahmatika wa taj`ala dam`i ghaziran fi ta`atika wa `abrati jariyatan fima yuqarribuni minka wa qalbi `atufan `ala awliya'ika wa tasunani fi hadhihi alddunya min al`ahati wal-afati wal-amradi alshshadidati wal-asqami almuzminati

Translation

to forgive me and have mercy upon me when You take me up, to make easy for me the agonies of death, to include me with the group of Muhammad and his Household, peace of Allah be upon him and them, to allow me to enter Paradise out of Your mercy, to make me shed heavy tears as obeisance to You, to make my tears always run down in acts that draw me near You, to make my heart sympathetic towards Your intimate servants, to save me in this worldly life from handicaps, epidemics, incurable diseases, chronic illnesses,

Transliteration

wa jami`i anwa`i albala'i walhawadithi wa tasrifa qalbi `an alharami wa tubaghghida ilayya ma`asiyaka wa tuhabbiba ilayya alhalala wa taftaha li abwabahu wa tuthabbita niyyati wa fi`li `alayhi wa tamudda fi `umri wa tughliqa abwaba almihani `anni wa la taslubani ma mananta bihi `alayya wa la tastaridda shay'an mimma ahsanta bihi ilayya wa la tanzi` minniya alnni`ama allati an`amta biha `alayya wa tazida fima khawwaltani

Translation

and all sorts of misfortunes and catastrophes. [I also beseech You to] cause my heart to turn away from the forbidden (acts and things), make me hate acts of disobedience to You, make me love the legally gotten sustenance open its doors before me, make firm my intention and my deeds on it, extend my lifetime, and close the doors of adversaries before me. (Please) do not deprive me of whatsoever You have favored upon me, do not take back from me the graces that You have granted me, do not strip me of the elegances that You have conferred upon me; [rather, please] increase that which You have authorized me to possess,

Transliteration

wa tuda`ifahu ad`afan muda`afatan wa tarzuqani malan kathiran wasi`an sa'ighan hani'an namiyan wafiyan wa `izzan baqiyan kafiyan wa jahan `aridan mani`an wa ni`matan sabighatan `ammatan wa tughniyani bidhalika `an almatalibi almunakkadati walmawaridi alssa`bati wa tukhallisani minha mu`afan fi dini wa nafsi wa waladi wa ma a`taytani wa manahtani

Translation

expand it many folds for me, and provide me with fortune that is very much, spacious, agreeable, joyful, growing, and satisfactory, and with dignity that is everlasting and sufficient, and with prestige that is outgoing and overwhelming, and with bounty that is flowing and broad. Through all that, (please) make me dispense with the humiliating appeals and unreachable sources, save me from them with good health as regards my religion, self, sons, and whatsoever You have given and granted me,

Transliteration

wa tahfaza `alayya mali wa jami`a ma khawwaltani wa taqbida `anni aydiya aljababirati wa taruddani ila watani wa tuballighani nihayata amali fi dunyaya wa akhirati wa taj`ala `aqibata amri mahmudatan hasanatan salimatan wa taj`alani rahiba alssadri wasi`a alhali hasana alkhuluqi ba`idan min albukhli walman`i walnnifaqi walkidhbi walbahti wa qawli alzzuri

Translation

preserve for me my properties and whatsoever You have put under my disposal, watch me against the hands of the tyrants, take me back to my homeland (safely), confer upon me the utmost of my hope in my worldly life and the Hereafter, make the consequence of my conducts praiseworthy, good, and sound, make me broadminded, well-off, and well-mannered, [and take me] away from miserliness, stinginess. hypocrisy, fabrication, slander, and perjury.

Transliteration

wa tursikha fi qalbi mahabbata muhammadin wa ali muhammadin wa shi`atihim wa tahrusani ya rabbi fi nafsi wa ahli wa mali wa waladi wa ahli huzanati wa ikhwani wa ahli mawaddati wa dhurriyyati birahmatika wa judika allahumma hadhihi hajati `indaka wa qad istakthartuha lilu'mi wa shuhhi wa hiya `indaka saghiratun haqiratun wa `alayka sahlatun yasiratun fa'as'aluka bijahi muhammadin wa ali muhammadin `alayhi wa `alayhim alssalamu `indaka

Translation

[Please] make firm in my heart the love for Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and their adherents (Shi`ah). O Lord, guard me, my family, my properties, my sons, those who are under my custody, my brothers, those whom I love, and my offspring in the name of Your mercy and Magnanimity. O Allah, these are my needs from You. Out of my meanness and avarice, I have considered these needs great, while in Your view the are insignificantly small and they are easy and effortless for You. I thus beseech You in the name of the standing of Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, peace be upon him and them, in Your view,

Transliteration

wa bihaqqihim `alayka wa bima awjabta lahum wa bisa'iri anbiya'ika wa rusulika wa asfiya'ika wa awliya'ika almukhlasina min `ibadika wa bismika al-a`zami al-a`zami lamma qadaytaha kullaha wa as`aftani biha wa lam tukhayyib amali wa raja'i allahumma wa shaffi` sahiba hadha alqabri fiyya ya sayyidi ya waliyya allahi ya amina allahi as'aluka an tashfa`a li ila allahi `azza wa jalla

Translation

in the name of Your duty towards You, in the name of what You have made incumbent upon Yourself towards them, in the name of Your other Prophets and Messengers, in the name of Your choicest ones and intimate servants whom You have selected over others for worshipping You, and in the name of Your Grand, Substantial Name, (I beseech You by all these) to grant me all of my requests, to relieve me through settling them for me, and not to disappoint nor let me down. O Allah, (please) accept the one in this tomb as my interceder before You. O my Master! O Allah’s vicegerent! O Allah’s trustee! I beseech you to intercede for me before Allah the Almighty and All-majestic

Transliteration

fi hadhihi alhajati kulliha bihaqqi aba'ika alttahirina wa bihaqqi awladika almuntajabina fa'inna laka `inda allahi taqaddasat asma'uhu almanzilata alshsharifata walmartabata aljalilata waljaha al`arida allahumma law `araftu man huwa awjahu `indaka min hadha al-imami wa min aba'ihi wa abna'ihi alttahirina `alayhim alssalamu walssalatu laja`altuhum shufa`a'i

Translation

so that He may approve of and grant me all of my requests in the name of Your Immaculate fathers and in the name of Your well-selected sons. Verily, you enjoy in the view of Allah, sacred be His Names, an honorable standing, a lofty rank, and a spacious regard. O Allah, had I known a person more acceptable in Your view than this Imam and his immaculate fathers and sons, peace and blessings be upon them, I would have chosen them to be my interceders (before You)

Transliteration

wa qaddamtuhum amama hajati wa talibati hadhihi fasma` minni wastajib li waf`al bi ma anta ahluhu ya arhama alrrahimina allahumma wa ma qasurat `anhu mas'alati wa `ajazat `anhu quwwati wa lam tablughhu fitnati min salihi dini wa dunyaya wa akhirati famnun bihi `alayya wahfazni wahrusni wa hab li waghfir li

Translation

and I would have introduced them as means by whom I would put before You my needs and requests. Therefore, (please) hear from me, respond to me, and do to me that which You alone are worthy to do. O most merciful of all those who show mercy. O Allah, as regards the needs that my requests have not included, the things that I am too powerless to do, and the things that I am not too clever to mention, among the things that prosper my religion, worldly life, and next life; (please) confer upon me with these, protect me, guard me, bestow upon me (with Your favors), and forgive me.

Transliteration

wa man aradani bisu'in aw makruhin min shaytanin maridin aw sultanin `anidin aw mukhalifin fi dinin aw munazi`in fi dunya aw hasidin `alayya ni`matan aw zalimin aw baghin faqbid `anni yadahu wasrif `anni kaydahu washghalhu `anni binafsihi wakfini sharrahu wa sharra atba`ihi wa shayatinihi

Translation

As for any one who intends evil or wickedness to me, such as a rebellious devil, a tyrant ruler, a dissident miscreant, a rival in a worldly affair, one who envies me for a grace, an unjust individual, or a despot; then (please) make their hands too short to catch me, take away their plots against me, preoccupy them against me with their own affairs, save me from their evils and the evils of their followers and devils,

Transliteration

wa ajirni min kulli ma yadurruni wa yujhifu bi wa a`tini jami`a alkhayri kullihi mimma a`lamu wa mimma la a`lamu allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin waghfir li wa liwalidayya wa li'ikhwani wa akhawati wa a`mami wa `ammati wa akhwali wa khalati wa ajdadi wa jaddati wa awladihim wa dhararihim wa azwaji wa dhurriyyati wa aqriba'i wa asdiqa'i

Translation

stand by me against whatsoever may harm and do injustice to me, and (please) grant me the entire goodness whether I know or I do not. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and forgive me, my parents, my brothers, my sisters, my (paternal) uncles, my (paternal) aunts, my (maternal) uncles, my (maternal) aunts, my forefathers, my foremothers, their descendants, their offspring, my spouse(s), my offspring, my relatives, my friends,

Transliteration

wa jirani wa ikhwani fika min ahli alshsharqi walgharbi wa lijami`i ahli mawaddati min almu'minina walmu'minati al-ahya'i minhum wal-amwati wa lijami`i man `allamani khayran aw ta`allama minni `ilman allahumma ashrik-hum fi salihi du`a'i wa ziyarati limashhadi hujjatika wa waliyyika wa ashrikni fi salihi ad`iyatihim birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina wa balligh waliyyaka minhum alssalama

Translation

my neighbors, my brothers-in-faith from the people of the east and the west (of the earth), all those whom I love among the believing men and women, be they alive or dead, all those who have ever taught me an item of decency, and those who have received from me an item of knowledge. O Allah, make all these have a share in my best supplications to You and in my (ritual) pilgrimages to the shrine of Your Argument and Your vicegerent; make me have a share in the best of their supplications, in the name of Your mercy, O most merciful of all those who show mercy. Convey their greetings to Your vicegerent.

Transliteration

wa alssalamu `alayka wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu ya sayyidi ya mawlaya ya salla allahu `alayka wa `ala ruhika wa badanika anta wasilati ila allahi wa dhari`ati ilayhi wa li haqqu muwalati wa ta'mili fakun shafi`i ila allahi `azza wa jalla fi alwuqufi `ala qissati hadhihi wa sarfi `an mawqifi hadha bilnnujhi bima sa'altuhu kullihi birahmatihi wa qudratihi allahumma irzuqni `aqlan kamilan

Translation

Peace and Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you. O my master, O my leader; O…(You should here mention the name of the Imam you are visiting.) may Allah bless you, your soul, and your body; you are my means to approach Allah and my way towards Him; and I enjoy the right of my loyalty to you and the right of my putting my entire hope in you; therefore, be my interceder before Allah the Almighty and All-majestic so that He shall regard my story (that I have just told) and so that He shall decide success to be the result of all of my requests in this situation of mine that I have besought from Him, out of His mercy and omnipotence. O Allah, (please) bestow upon me a perfect intellectuality,

Transliteration

wa lubban rajihan wa `izzan baqiyan wa qalban zakiyyan wa `amalan kathiran wa adaban bari`an waj`al dhalika kullahu li wa la taj`alhu `alayya birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina

Translation

a sagacious reason, an everlasting might, a pure heart, a very much deed, and excellent manners; decide all these to be for my good, but do not make them stand against me; in the name of Your mercy, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.
