Rites on Thursday (Taqeeb)

Transliteration

alhamdu lillahi alladhi adh-haba allayla muzliman biqudratihi wa ja'a bilnnahari mubsiran birahmatihi wa kasani diya'ahu wa atani ni`matahu allahumma fakama abqaytani lahu fa-abqini li-amthalihi wa salli `ala alnnabiyyi muhammadin wa alihi wa la tafja`ni fihi wa fi ghayrihi min allayali wal-ayyami birtikabi almaharimi waktisabi alma'athimi warzuqni khayrahu wa khayra ma fihi wa khayra ma ba`dahu

Translation

All praise be to Allah Who has taken away the shadowy night by His power and brought the sight-giving day through His mercy. He has clothed me in its brightness and given me its favor. O Allah, just as You have spared me for this day, so also spare me for its likes, bless the Prophet Muhammad and his Household, torment me not in it and in other nights and days by my commitment of unlawful acts and clothing myself in sins; provide me with its good, the good of all within it, and the good of everything after it;

Transliteration

wasrif `anni sharrahu wa sharra ma fihi wa sharra ma ba`dahu allahumma inni bidhimmati al-islami atawassalu ilayka wabihurmati alqur'ani a`tamidu `alayka wa bimuhammadin almustafa salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi astashfi`u ladayka fa`rif allahumma dhimmati allati rajawtu biha qada'a hajati ya arhama arrahimina allahumma iqdi li fi alkhamisi khamsan

Translation

and turn away from me its evil, the evil of all within it, and the evil of everything after it! O Allah, by the protective compact of Islam, I seek mediation with You! By the inviolability of the Qur'an, I rely upon You! By Muhammad the chosen, Allah bless him and his Household, I seek intercession with You. So, recognize my protective compact by which I hope my need will be granted, O Most Merciful of all those who show mercy! O Allah, decree for me on Thursday five things,

Transliteration

la yattasi`u laha illa karamuka wa la yutiquha illa ni`amuka salamatan aqwa biha `ala ta`atika wa `ibadatan astahiqqu biha jazila mathubatika wa sa`atan fi alhali min alrrizqi alhalali wa an tu'minani fi mawaqifi alkhawfi bi-amnika wa taj`alani min tawariqi alhumumi walghumumi fi hisnika salli ‘ala muhammadin wa alihi waj`al tawassuli bihi shafi`an yawma alqiyamati nafi`an innaka anta arhamu arrahimina

Translation

which none embraces but Your generosity and none supports but Your favors: health through which I may have the strength to obey You, worship by which I may deserve Your plentiful reward, plenty in my state through lawful provision, and that You make me secure in the places of fear through Your security, and place me in Your fortress against the striking of worries and sorrows! Bless Muhammad and his Household, and make my seeking his mediation as an intercessor give profit on the Day of Resurrection! Surely, You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

Transliteration

subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa antal-waasi'ul-ladhee laa yadeeq al-baseerul-ladhee laa yadillun-noorul-ladhee laa yukh-mad subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa antal-hayyul-ladhee laa yamoot al-qayyoomul-ladhee laa yahinus-samadul-ladhee laa yut'am subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa anta maa a'zama sha'nak wa a'azza sultaanaka wa a'laa makaanaka wa ash-makha mulkak subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa anta maa abarraka wa arhamak wa ahlamaka wa a'zamaka wa asmahaka wa ajallak wa akramaka wa a'lamaka wa a'azzaka wa a'laak wa aqwaaka wa asma'aka wa absarak subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant maa akrama 'afwaka wa a'zama tajaawuzak

Translation

Glory be to you, There is no God save you; The Immense, Who will not be narrowed! The All-Seeing, Who will never astray! The Divine Light, Who will never be extinguished! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; The Ever-living, Who will never die! The Self-Subsistent, who The Eternally Besought and Will never be fed! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; How mighty is your authority! How mighty is Your station! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, The most; Merciful, Benevolence, Forbearance, Greatness, forgiver, sublime, generous, All-Knowing, Mighty, High, All-Powerful, All-Hearing, and All-Watching! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, How; generous is your pardon, and great is your overlooking!

Transliteration

subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant maa awsa'a rahmataka wa akthara fadlak subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant maa an'ama aalaa'aka wa asbagha na'maa'ak subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant maa afdala thawaabaka wa ajzala 'ataa'ak subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant maa awsa'a hujyataka wa awdaha burhaanak subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant maa ashadda akhdhaka wa awja'a 'iqaabak subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant maa ashadda makraka wa amtana kaydak

Translation

Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, How; expanded is your mercy and abundant is your bounties! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, How, Bestowed is his blessings and graces! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, How; great is your Reward, and abundant is your gifts! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, How; immense is your Claim, and obvious is your Proof! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, How; tough is your taking, and Hurtful is your punishment! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, How; strong is your resourcefulness and firm cunning!

Transliteration

subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant tusabbihu lakas-samaawaatus-sab'u wal-aradoonas-sab' subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant al-qareebu fee 'uluwwikal-muta'aalee fee dunuwwikal-mutadaanee doona kulli shay'im-min khalqik subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant al-qareebu qabla kulli shay' wad-daa'imu ma'a kulli shay' wal-baaqee ba'da fanaa'i kulli shay' subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant tasaaghara kullu shay'il-lijabarootik wanqaada kullu shay'il-lisultaanik wa dhalla kullu shay'il-li-'izzatik

Translation

Glory be to you, There is no God save you; Glorify you The seven Heavens and seven Earths! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, the high in your nearness and yet exalted in your nearness before your creatures! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; O, The close; Who is a priori to all existence! O, The Everlasting when everything disappears! O, The Remaining, after everything (created) shall perish! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; Everything is minor before your omnipotence and follows your authority. Before your respect, all things are Lowly.

Transliteration

wa khada'a kullu shay'il-limulkik wastaslama kullu shay'il-liqudratik subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant malaktal-mulooka bi-'azamatik wa qahartal-jabaabirata bi-qudratik wa dhallaltal-'uzamaa'a bi-'izzatik subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant tasbeehan yafdulu 'alaa tasbeehil-musabbiheen kullihim min awwalid-dahri ilaa aakhirih wa mil'as-samaawaati wal-aradeena wa mil'a maa khalaqta wa mil'a maa qaddart subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant tusabbihu lakas-samaawaatu bi-aqtaarihaa

Translation

Everything obeyed your authority and submitted to your All-Poweness! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; You are the One who rules over the kings by Your Power Defeated the tyrants with your power! You degraded The greats with your mightiness! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; with glorification that exceeds all the glorification of those who glorify Him, from The beginning of time till eternity fulfilling The; heavens, earth, what you created, and what you fated! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; The heavens glorify you on all its sides!

Transliteration

wash-shamsu fee majaareehaa wal-qamaru fee manaazilihee wan-nujoomu fee sayaraanihaa wal-falaku fee ma'aarijih subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant yusabbihu lakan-nahaaru bi-daw'ihee wal-laylu bi-dujaa'ih wan-nooru bi-shu'aa'ihee waz-zulmatu bi-ghumoodihaa subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant tusabbihu lakar-riyaahu fee mahabbihaa was-sahaabu bi-amtaarihaa wal-barqu bi-akhtaafihee war-ra'du bi-arzaamih subhaanaka laa ilaaha illaa ant tusabbihu lakal-ardu bi-aqwaatihaa

Translation

The sun is in its streaming; The moon is in its places, the stars in its pacing, and The orbit in its ascension. Glory be to you, There is no God save you; The day glorifies you by its Light, night by its darkness, Light by its brightness, and The darkness with its Obscurely! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; The winds glorify you by blowing, clouds by rain, lightning by snatching, and thunder by bundling! Glory be to you, There is no God save you; The earth glorifies you by its sustenance,

Transliteration

wal-jibaalu bi-atwaadihaa wash-shajaru bi-awraaqihaa wal-maraa'ee fee manaabitihaa subhaanaka wa bi-hamdika laa ilaaha illaa anta wahdaka laa shareeka lak 'adada maa sabbahaka min shay' wa kamaa tuhibbu yaa rabbi an tuhmad wa kamaa yambaghee li-'azamatika wa kibriyaa'ika wa 'izzik wa 'izzatika wa quwwatika wa qudratik wa sallal-laahu 'alaa rasoolihee muhammadin khaatamin-nabiyyeena wa aalihee ajma'een

Translation

mountains by its floating, trees by their leaves, and pastureland by its arboretums! Glory be to you, there is no God save You alone without having any partner; at the amount of everything that glorifies you, as you like to be Praised, and as should Your; Grandeur, Magnificence, honor, power, and ability glorified! O, Allah; send The blessings upon Muhammed, The seal of prophets and His household.

Transliteration

u'eedhu nafsee bi-rabbil-mashaariqi wal-maghaarib min kulli shaytaanim-maarid, wa qaa'imin wa qaa'id, wa 'aduwwin wa haasid wa mu'aanid, wa yunazzilu 'alaykum minas-samaa'i maa'aa liyutahhirakum bihee wa yudh-hiba 'ankum rijzash-shaytaan wa liyarbita 'alaa quloobikum wa yuthabbita bihil-aqdaam urkud bi-rijlik haadhaa mughtasalum-baariduw-wa sharaab wa anzalnaa minas-samaa'i maa'an tahooral-linuhyiya bihee baldatam-maytaa wa nusqiyahoo mimmaa khalaqnaa an'aamaw-wa anaasiyya katheeraa al-aana khaffafal-laahu 'ankum dhaalika takhfeefum-mir-rabbikum wa rahmah, yureedul-laah an yukhaffifa 'ankum, fa-sayakfeekahumul-laah

Translation

I seek protection for myself in the Lord of the East and the West from the evil of every rebellious, standing, sitting, envious. Refractory demon and We send down on you water from heaven, to purify you thereby, to put away from you the defilement of Satan and to strengthen your hearts, and to make firm your feet. Stamp Your foot! This is a washing-place cool for drinking. And We sent down from heaven pure water to revive dead land, and give to drink of it what We created, many cattle and men. Now God has lightened it for you. So that a lightening granted you by your Lord and the mercy that Allah desires to lighten things for you, God will suffice you for them.

Transliteration

wa huwas-samee'ul-'aleem laa ilaaha illal-laahu wal-laahu ghaalibun 'alaa amrih laa ilaaha illal-laahu muhammadur-rasoolul-laah sallal-laahu 'alayhi wa aalih a'oodhu bi-'izzatil-laahi wa a'oodhu bi-qudratil-laah wa a'oodhu bi-rasoolihee sallal-laahu 'alayhi wa aalihee wa sallama tasleemaa

Translation

He is the All-hearer and the All-knower. There is no power except with Allah, no conqueror except Allah. God prevails in His purpose. There is no God save Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, blessings of Allah be on him and his family. I seek refuge in the might of Allah and I seek refuge in the power of Allah and I seek refuge in His Messenger, may Allah bless him and his family and may He salute them with thorough salutation.

Transliteration

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin wa `ajjil farajahum wa ahlik `aduwwahum mina aljinni wal-insi mina al-awwalina wal-akhirina

Translation

O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, hasten their Relief, and destroy their enemies from both jinn and human beings, both the foremost and the later ones.

Transliteration

subhanallahi allahu-akbar la ilaha illa allahu

Translation

All Glory be to Allah. Allah is the Most Great. There is no god save Allah.

Transliteration

astaghfiru allaha alladhi la ilaha illa huwa alhayyu alqayyumu wa atubu ilayhi tawbata `abdin khadi`in miskinin mustakinin la yastati`u linafsihi sarfan wa la `adlan wa la naf`an wa la darran wa la hayatan wa la mawtan wa la nushuran wa salla allahu `ala muhammadin wa `itratihi alttayyibina alttahirina al-akhyari al-abrari wa sallama tasliman

Translation

I pray the forgiveness of Allah; there is no god but He, the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting, and I repent to Him as a slave who is submissive, acquiescent, and poor, not controlling for himself any harm or profit, or benefit or damage and not controlling death nor life, nor raising (the dead) to life. May Allah send peace upon Muhammad and his Household; the pure, the immaculate, the choicest, and the pious; and may He spread thorough blessings over them.

Transliteration

allahumma inni as'aluka biwajhika alkarimi wasmika al`azimi an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin wa an taghfira li dhanbiya al`azima

Translation

O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your Noble Face and in the name of Your Sublime Name to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household and to forgive me my grave sin.
