Ziyarat Warith of Imam Husain (as)

Transliteration

alssalamu `alayka ya waritha adama safwati allahi alssalamu `alayka ya waritha nuhin nabiyyi allahi alssalamu `alayka ya waritha ibrahima khalili allahi alssalamu `alayka ya waritha musa kalimi allahi alssalamu `alayka ya waritha `isa ruhi allahi alssalamu `alayka ya waritha muhammadin habibi allahi alssalamu `alayka ya waritha amiri almu'minina [waliAllah] alssalamu `alayka yabna muhammadin almustafa alssalamu `alayka yabna `aliyyin almurtada alssalamu `alayka yabna fatimata alzzahra'i alssalamu `alayka yabna khadijata alkubra alssalamu `alayka ya thara allahi wabna tharihi

Translation

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam the choice of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah the prophet of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Abraham the intimate friend of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Moses the spoken by Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus the spirit of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad the most beloved by Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him. (the intimate friend of Allah). Peace be upon you, O son of Muhammad the well-chosen Prophet. Peace be upon you, O son of `Ali the well-pleased. Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah the luminous lady. Peace be upon you, O son of Khadijah the grand lady. Peace be upon you, O vengeance of Allah, son of His vengeance,

Transliteration

walwitra almawtura ashhadu annaka qad aqamta alssalata wa atayta alzzakata wa amarta bilma`rufi wa nahayta `an almunkari wa ata`ta allaha wa rasulahu hatta ataka alyaqinu fala`ana allahu ummatan qatalatka wa la`ana allahu ummatan zalamatka wa la`ana allahu ummatan sami`at bidhalika faradiyat bihi ya mawlaya ya aba `abdillahi ashhadu annaka kunta nuran fi al-aslabi alshshamikhati wal-arhami almutahharati

Translation

and the unavenged so far. I bear witness that you performed the prayers, defrayed the poor-rate, enjoined the right, forbade the wrong, and obeyed Allah and His Messenger until death came upon you. So, may Allah curse the people who slew you. May Allah curse the people who persecuted you. May Allah curse the people who were pleased when they had heard of that. O my Master, O Abu-`Abdullah! I bear witness that you were light in the sublime loins and purified wombs;

Transliteration

lam tunajjiska aljahiliyyatu bi'anjasiha wa lam tulbiska min mudlahimmati thiyabiha wa ashhadu annaka min da`a'imi alddini wa arkani almu'minina wa ashhadu annaka al-imamu albarru alttaqiyyu alrradiyyu alzzakiyyu alhadi almahdiyyu wa ashhadu anna al-a'immata min wuldika kalimatu alttaqwa wa a`lamu alhuda wal`urwatu alwuthqa walhujjatu `ala ahli alddunya wa ushhidu allaha wa mala'ikatahu

Translation

the impurities of the Ignorance Era could not object you to filth nor could it dress you its murky clothes. I also bear witness that you are one of the mainstays of the religion and the supports of the faithful believers. I also bear witness that you are the God-fearing, pious, pleased, immaculate, guide, and well-guided Imam. And (I bear witness) that the Imams from your progeny are the spokesmen of piety, the signs of guidance, the firmest handle (of Islam), and the decisive Argument against the inhabitants of the world. And I call Allah, His angels,

Transliteration

wa anbiya'ahu wa rusulahu anni bikum mu'minun wa bi'yabikum muqinun bishara'i`i dini wa khawatimi `amali wa qalbi liqalbikum silmun wa amri li'amrikum muttbi`un salawatu allahi `alaykum wa `ala arwahikum wa `ala ajsadikum wa `ala ajsamikum wa `ala shahidikum wa `ala gha'ibkum wa `ala zahirikum wa `ala batinikum bi'abi anta wa ummi yabna rasuli allahi bi'abi anta wa ummi ya aba `abdillahi laqad `azumat alrraziyyatu

Translation

His Prophets, and His Messenger to witness for me that I believe in you all and in your Return, I have full confidence in the laws of my religion and in the seals of my deeds, my heart is at peace with you all, and all my affairs are based on your commands. May Allah’s benedictions be on your souls, your bodies, your forms, the present and the absent from you, and the apparent and the invisible from you. My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O son of the Messenger of Allah! My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Abu `Abdullah! Extremely terrible was the calamity

Transliteration

wa jallat almusibatu bika `alayna wa `ala jami`i ahli alssamawati wal-ardi fala`ana allahu ummatan asrajat wa aljamat wa tahayya'at liqitalika ya mawlaya ya aba `abdillahi qasadtu haramaka wa ataytu ila mashhadika as'alu allaha bilshsha'ni alladhi laka `indahu wa bilmahalli alladhi laka ladayhi an yusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin wa an yaj`alani ma`akum fi alddunya wal-akhirati

Translation

and astounding is the misfortune that you suffered upon us and upon all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth. Therefore, Allah may curse the people who saddled up, gave rein to their horses, and prepared themselves to kill you. O my Master, O Abu `Abdullah! I moved towards your sanctuary and came to your shrine beseeching Allah in the name of the standing that you enjoy with Him and the position that you occupy with Him to send blessings on Muhammad and on the Household of Muhammad and to keep me with you in this world and in the Hereafter.

Transliteration

alssalamu `alayka yabna rasuli allahi alssalamu `alayka yabna nabiyyi allahi alssalamu `alayka yabna amiri almu'minina alssalamu `alayka yabna alhusayni alshshahidi alssalamu `alayka ayyuha alshshahidu, wabnus shahid alssalamu `alayka ayyuha almazlumu wabnu almazlumi la`ana allahu ummatan qatalatka wa la`ana allahu ummatan zalamatka wa la`ana allahu ummatan sami`at bidhalika faradiyat bihi alssalamu `alayka ya waliyya allahi wabna waliyyihi laqad `azumat almusibatu wa jallat alrraziyyatu bika `alayna

Translation

Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O son of the Prophet of Allah. Peace be upon you, O son of the commander of the faithful. Peace be upon you, O son of al-Husayn the martyr. Peace be upon you, O martyr, and son of the martyr Peace be upon you, O wronged and harassed and the son of the wrong and harassed. Curse of Allah be on those who killed you. Curse of Allah be on those who persecuted you. Curse of Allah be on those who heard this even but rested satisfied. Peace be upon you, O intimate servant of Allah and the son of His intimate servant. Extremely terrible was the calamity and astounding is the misfortune that you suffered, upon us

Transliteration

wa `ala jami`i almuslimina fala`ana allahu ummatan qatalatka wa abra'u ila allahi wa ilayka minhum

Translation

and upon all Muslims. So, curse of Allah be on those who killed you and I disavow them in the presence of Allah and You.

Transliteration

alssalamu `alaykum ya awliya'a allahi wa ahibba'ahu alssalamu `alaykum ya asfiya'a allahi wa awidda'ahu alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara dini allahi alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara rasuli allahi alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara amiri almu'minina alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara fatimata sayyidati nisa'i al`alamina alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara abi muhammadin alhasani ibni `aliyyin alwaliyyi alnnasihi alssalamu `alaykum ya ansara abi `abdillahi bi'abi antum wa ummi tibtum wa tabat al-ardu allati fiha dufintum wa fuztum fawzan `aziman

Translation

Peace be upon all of you, O friends and dears of Allah. Peace be upon all of you, O choice of Allah and sincerely attached to Him. Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of Allah’s religion. Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of the Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of the Commander of the Faithful. Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of Fatimah the doyenne of the women of this world. Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of Abu Muhammad, al-Hasan the son of `Ali, the saintly and sincere. Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of Abu-`Abdullah. My father and mother be sacrificed for you. Verily, pure be you and pure be the soil in which you were buried. You attained great success.

Transliteration

fayalaytani kuntu ma`akum fa'afuza ma`akum

Translation

Would that I were with you so that I could also share the accomplishment with you.

Transliteration

alssalamu `alayka yabna amiri almu'minina alssalamu `alayka ayyuha al`abdu alssalihu almuti`u lillahi wa lirasulihi ashhadu annaka qad jahadta wa nasahta wa sabarta hatta ataka alyaqinu la`ana allahu alzzalimina lakum min al-awwalina wal-akhirina wa alhaqahum bidarki aljahimi

Translation

Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful. Peace be upon you, O righteous servant (of Allah) and obedient to Allah and to His Messenger. I bear witness that you strove (in the way of Allah), acted sincerely, and tolerated (harm) until death came upon you. May Allah curse those who wronged you from the past and the present generations and may He send them to the lowest layer of the blazing Hell.

Transliteration

allahumma inni sallaytu wa raka`tu wa sajadtu laka wahdaka la sharika laka li'anna alssalata walrruku`a walssujuda la takunu illa laka li'annaka anta allahu la ilaha illa anta allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin wa ablighhum `anni afdala alssalami walttahiyyati wardud `alayya minhum alssalama allahumma wa hatani alrrak`atani hadiyyatun minni ila mawlaya alhusayni bni `aliyyin `alayhima alssalamu allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa `alayhi

Translation

O Allah, I have offered a prayer, genuflected, and prostrated myself for Your sake purely without setting any partner with You since all prayers, genuflection, and prostration suit none except You. Because You are Allah, there in n0 god save You. O Allah, (please) send blessings on Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and convey to them my best greetings and compliments and convey to me their replies. O Allah, these two units of prayer are present from me to my master al-Husayn the son of `Ali, peace be upon both of them. O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and on him,

Transliteration

wa taqabbal minni wa'jurni `ala dhalika bi'afdali amali wa raja'i fika wa fi waliyyika ya waliyya almu'minina

Translation

accept my effort, and reward me for it in the best rewarding that I anticipate and hope from You and from Your saint, O Guardian of the faithful!
