Fa-awdaha lana minhu shuruta fara’idik, wa abana lana ‘an wadihi sunnatik, wa afsaha lana ‘anil-halali wal-haram. Wa anara lana mudlahimmatiz-zalam, wa jannabana rukubal-atham, wa alzamana-tta’ah, wa wa’adana min ba’diha-shshafa’ah. Fa-kuntu mimman ata’a amrahu, wa ajaba da’watahu, was-tamsaka bi-hablih. Fa-aqamtus-salata, wa ataytuz-zakata, wal-tazamtus-siyamal-ladhi ja’altahu haqqa. Fa-qulta jalla ismuk: kutiba ‘alaykumus-siyamu kama kutiba ‘alal-ladhina min qablikum. Thumma innaka abantahu fa-qulta ‘azzazta wa jallalta min qa’il: shahru ramadanal-ladhi unzila fihil-qur’an. Wa qulta: fa-man shahida minkumush-shahra fal-yasumh. Wa raghghabta fil-hajji ba’da idh faradtahu ila baytikal-ladhi harramtahu, fa-qulta jalla ismuk: wa lillahi ‘alan-nasi hijjul-bayti manis-tata’a ilayhi sabila. Wa qulta ‘azzazta wa jallalt: wa adhdhin fin-nasi bil-hajji ya’tuka rijalan wa ‘ala kulli damirin ya’tina min kulli fajjin ‘amiq. Li-yashhadu manafi’a lahum wa yadhkurus-ma Allahi fi ayyamin ma’lumatin ‘ala ma razaqahum min bahimatil-an’am. Allahumma inni as’aluka an taj’alani minal-ladhina yastati’una ilayhi sabila. Wa minar-rijalil-ladhina ya’tunahu li-yashhadu manafi’a lahum wa li-yukabbiru Allaha ‘ala ma hadahum wa a’inni. Allahumma ‘ala jihadi ‘aduwwika fi sabilika ma’a waliyyika kama qulta jalla qawluk.
Thus, he clarified for us from it the conditions of Your obligatory duties, made apparent to us Your clear tradition, and explained to us the permissible and the forbidden. He illuminated the pitch-black darkness for us, turned us away from committing sins, bound us to obedience, and promised us intercession thereafter. So I was among those who obeyed his command, answered his call, and held fast to his rope. So I established the prayer, gave the alms (zakat), and committed to the fasting which You established as a right. For You said, exalted is Your name: "Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you." Then You made it clear, and You said, glorified and exalted are You as a speaker: "The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran." And You said: "So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it." And You encouraged the pilgrimage after You made it obligatory to Your House which You made sacred. Thus You said, exalted is Your name: "And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way." And You said, glorified and exalted are You: "And proclaim to the people the Hajj; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass." "That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals." O Allah, I ask You to make me among those who are able to find a way to it. And among the men who come to it to witness benefits for themselves and to magnify Allah for having guided them, and help me. O Allah, in striving against Your enemy in Your path alongside Your guardian, as You said, exalted is Your word:
